Tammy Tobitsch, Outdoor Enthusiast From Union County, Dies At 47
Tammy Tobitsch, a New Providence resident, died of breast cancer at the age of 47 on Friday, Sept. 29 according to her obituary.
A native of Summit, Tobitsch graduated from Summit High School and developed her love for the outdoors at the Frost Valley YMCA in the Catskills.
She enjoyed camping, hiking, biking, kayaking and sailing, her obituary reads. Her outdoor excursions took her to Winnipeg and Sweden, according to her obituary.

Longtime Linden Police Officer Matthew Carew Dies: 'A Class Act'
Matthew Carew, who served in the Linden Police Department for 40 years, died on Friday, Oct. 6 at the age of 70, the Linden Police Department announced.
A Rahway resident, Carew started as a police officer the Keansburg Police Department before transferring to Linden, according to his obituary. He retired in 2014.
Carew is survived by his wife, Rita, his children, Andrew and Christopher, his grandchildren, Mia, Ayva, Chloe and Riley and other relatives.
Condolences to the family poured in on LPD's Facebook post, where one person remembered Carew as "a class act."

Retired State Trooper Suffered Medical Episode Before Route 287 Crash: Family, Police
The driver who died in a crash on Route 287 in Morris County this week has been identified as retired New Jersey State Trooper Kevin Hanrahan.
Hanrahan, 61, was heading north near milepost 31.4 in Harding Township around 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, when he ran off the road to the left and struck a metal guardrail, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said.
Hanrahan was rushed to a hospital, where he later died, Marchan said. Hanrahan's son, Kevin, said he had suffered a medical episode.

Nashawn Breedlove, the actor who famously rapped with Eminem in "8 Mile," died in his New Jersey home, his family tells TMZ.
Breedlove, 46, died in his sleep at home on Sunday, Sept. 24, the outlet said. His Facebook profile shows he is from Newark.

Kearny's Breanna Pifano, 20, Dies Weeks After Suffering Cardiac Event
Breanna Pifano, a 20-year-old student at Montclair State University, died on Monday, Sept. 18, after suffering a cardiac event earlier this month, according to her obituary.
Breanna was born on Dec. 18, 2002 and was in her third year at MSU studying biology, with aspirations of becoming an optometrist.
A fundraiser was set up to assist the family with medical and funeral expenses. As of Friday, Sept. 22, more than $40,590 has been raised.
