YONKERS, N.Y. -- Yonkers native Patrick Wareham was among the stars who recently led Loyola School to a 5-0 record in the St. Petersburg, Fla., baseball spring training tournament.
In the tournament, Wareham, a senior and team captain, had five hits, three RBIs, scored six runs and stole seven bases.
Loyola School was one of a group of schools from the United States and Canada that visited Florida two weeks ago to compete in a nonelimination tournament organized by Tampa Bay Spring Training.
The Florida baseball series was Loyola School’s first since May 2015 when the team captured its first NYCAL Championship in 15 years by defeating Browning 8-5.
