Yonkers Native James Blake Announces He Will Retire From Pro Tennis

WESTPORT, Conn. -- James Blake, a native of Yonkers, N.Y., and a current Westport, Conn. resident, announced he will retire from professional tennis after competing in this year's U.S. Open, according to USA Today.

Blake, a Fairfield High School (Conn.) graduate, was inducted into the Jackie Robinson Professional Wing of the Fairfield County Sports Hall of Fame in June.

He enters his final tournament with a 362-251 career record in singles and doubles. He has won 10 Association of Tennis Professionals titles and was ranked as high as fourth in the world in singles in 2006.
