Norwalk Police Issue 242 Tickets For Texting, Cell Phone Use

NORWALK, Conn. -- Texting and cell phone use has become such a problem with drivers that the Norwalk Police Department recently performed a two week distracted driver detail in an effort to curb the practice.

During the detail, which was held from Aug. 1 to Aug. 14, the department held 11 enforcement details where they handed out 242 tickets to drivers who were either texting on talking on their cell phones. In addition, officers issued 44 tickets for other violations.
