Fairfield Names New Headmaster for Ludlowe High School

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The search for Fairfield Ludlowe High School’s next headmaster is over. Fairfield Woods Middle School principal Greg Hatzis will take over the job next school year.

“Greg brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of our district, students, staff and programs,” Superintendent David Title said Wednesday in a press release. “He is a highly motivated, strong leader, who I am confident will be an asset to the Fairfield Ludlowe High School community.”

Current Headmaster Vanessa Reale announced recently that she will step down at the end of June for personal reasons. Hatzis will take over July 1.

This is the second tenure at Ludlowe for Hatzis. He previously served as a housemaster at both Ludlowe and Fairfield Warde before taking over at Fairfield Woods in 2007. Before coming to Fairfield in 2002, he was a social studies teacher at New Canaan High School.

Title’s letter to parents said that the board of education will begin looking for a replacement at Fairfield Woods soon, starting with internal candidates. The district will also begin looking for a new Housemaster for Webster House and a director of pupil services for Fairfield Ludlowe with the school’s top position filled.
