Two Extricated In Crash That Caused Sprain Parkway Closure In Yonkers

The crash, which occurred around 3:41 p.m. Wednesday on the Sprain near Jackson Avenue and the Greenburgh/Yonkers border, left two people trapped, with one seriously injured, said the New York State Police.

The two were saved by the Yonkers Police Department Emergency Services Unit, IAFF Local 628 Yonkers firefighters, and Empress Emergency Medical Services working together to extricate victims. Also on hand was firefighters with the Greenville and Fairview fire departments.

"One victim suffered severe trauma to her leg, but thankfully no loss of life," said Yonkers police officials on Facebook.
