Yorktown Police arrested Michael A. Damato, around 7:09 p.m. Sunday, after receiving a report that he exposed himself to the woman and child walking in the parking lot of the Triangle Shopping Center near the CVS, said Lt. Tom Gentner.

According to police, Damato, while parked at the shopping center, stood outside of his vehicle facing the victims with his shorts down to his knees, exposing his penis in a lewd manner.

He then fled the scene, but following an investigation, police located his vehicle on Route 6 and observed several traffic violations, police said. Following a stop, Damato was placed under arrest and was transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, exposure of a person, speeding, inadequate headlights and failure to maintain lane, Gentner said.

Damato was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Aug. 7.
