YONKERS, N.Y. -- Faulty wiring has been cited as the cause of the Wednesday fire at 39 Locust Hill Avenue off Palisade Avenue that displaced 15 people and injured three firefighters.
The fire, which began around 4:30 p.m., badly damaged a three-story, multi-family, wood-frame house, Yonkers fire officials said.
The blaze began around 4:30 p.m. with responders encountering heavy fire on arrival, officials said.
Approximately 12 companies and 40 firefighters battled the blaze. Yonkers OEM is on the scene, along with the Red Cross and Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano.
