YONKERS, N.Y. -- A political adviser with connections to the Yonkers Ridge Hill development was indicted on charges of scamming the Democratic Senate Campaign out of $100,000 and tax evasion on Thursday, Dec. 19, according to LoHud.com.
Melvin Lowe allegedly arranged for a company in New Jersey to receive the $100,000 from the DSCC for a fake printing job. He later had the company split the funds so he would get $75,000. He allegedly used his portion of the money to renovate his home in Georgia, LoHud.com reported.
Lowe is charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, causing an employee at a federally insured bank to make a false report, subscribing to false tax returns, and failure to file tax returns, according to LoHud.com
