Salvatore Castaldo, 87, Of Yonkers, WWII Veteran

YONKERS, N.Y. - Salvatore Castaldo of Yonkers died Oct. 31. He was 87.

Castaldo was born July 25, 1926, in Yonkers, to Vincenzo and Antoinette Notaro Castaldo. He worked at the Castaldo bakery in Yonkers for many years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving overseas during WWII.

Castaldo is survived by his brother, Patrick; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Dominick, Nicholas, Fred and Frank; and sisters, Lucille Inglis and Fanny Minozzi.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4 at St. Bartholomew's Church, 15 Palmer Road, Yonkers. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers.
