Morton Pincks, 86, Yonkers Resident

YONKERS, N.Y. – Morton (Morty) Pincks, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, died Sunday, Feb. 21. He was 86.

He was born March 7, 1929, in Yonkers, to Stanley and Dorothy (Sternbach) Pincks.

He received his bachelor's degree from Alfred University and upon graduation went to work for Olivetti Underwood.

In his retirement, he worked in Sternbach Furs, the family business. He was also deeply involved in Temple Emanu-El in Yonkers and in Scarsdale Synagogue Temples Tremont and Emanu-El. He also volunteered for many years at JCY Westchester Community Partners.

He is survived by cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday at 11 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 1652 Central Park Ave., Yonkers.
