YONKERS, N.Y. -- Marion Nevin, 89, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 11.

She originally was from Yonkers, the daughter of Leo and Mildred Porgie, and then lived in Rockland County before settling in Myrtle Beach in 2014.

Nevin worked primarily as a real estate agent in Rockland County and graduated from Gorton High School, where she was a member of the Sigma Chi sorority.

She is survived by her husband Frank X. Nevin Jr.and canine pal Joey; daughters, Ms. Joanne Lynn, Mrs. Jean Leone and husband Michael and Mrs. Patricia Baxa and husband Walter; six grandchildren, Kara Donahue and husband James, Janine Pereira and husband David, Angela Leone Hitchcock and husband Zachary Hitchcock. John Lynn and fiancé Tiffany Stevens, Kristen Simpson and husband Steve and Robert Baxa; five great-grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Pereira, Jackson and Oliver Hitchcock and Kylie Donahue; brothers-in-law, Jack Nevin and wife Bunny and Tom Nevin and wife Lady Catherine; and sisters-in-law, Maureen Endler and husband Thomas and Madeline Carroll.

She loved spending time with her family and also loved to cook and entertain and frequently had cocktail parties with family and friends. The cherished memories of time spent around her dinner table will live on as she loved to teach her daughters and grandchildren all the recipes she had learned from her mother. She was a woman who took fashion advice from no one but inspired many to duplicate her style. Her contagious smile and nurturing love and faith will be severely missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation.
