YONKERS, N.Y. -- Assunta Renzo, a longtime Yonkers resident, died on Tuesday, March 15. She was 71.
Born in Italy, Renzo "was a genuine person who was devoted to her family and her extended Renzo family," information from the funeral home notes. "She loved to cook for her family and was loved by many."
Renzo is survived by her husband, Tommaso Renzo; children Maria Amoretti, Salvatore Renzo and Andre Renzo; grandchildren Luigi, Julia and Thomas Amoretti, and Elianna and Thomas Renzo; Maria, Antonieta and Pasquale; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Pietro and Josephine (Lancillotti) Cirino Groccia, and her brother, Luigi Cirino Groccia.
Visiting hours will be from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, March 18, at Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave., in Yonkers. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 5 Strathmore Rd., in Scarsdale. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, in Valhalla.
