Andrew Casella, 90, Of Yonkers, Worked For American Compress Gases

YONKERS, N.Y. - Andrew Casella (Andy) of Yonkers died Nov. 10. He was 90.

Casella was born July 26, 1923, in Yonkers, to Tessie and Anthony Casella. He was a Yonkers resident all his life. He served in the U.S. Navy for six years during World War II in the South Pacific on the Solomon Islands. He attended the local schools in Yonkers and worked for American Compress Gases.

Casella is survived by his sister, Gladys Kelly and her four children of Cos Cob, Conn.; brother, Walter (Ella) Casella of Rutland, Vt., and their two children; sister, Florence Gonda of Delray Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Rosemarie Coratti; and brothers, Edward, Richard, John, Raymond and Louis.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hastings Funeral Home , 15 Spring St., Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706. There will be a chapel service held at the funeral home Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m., followed by an entombment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Saw Mill River Road, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706.
