Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Warburton Avenue in Yonkers at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24, where there were multiple reports of a shooting incident in the area.

Upon arrival, police said that they found 16-year-old Joseph Kuaffo of Yonkers with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead. It was later determined that 17-year-old Bronx resident Horace Allen was the shooter.

Police said that Kuaffo was shot in the chest once by Allen, who fled the scene. The two were allegedly “exhibiting a firearm when Allen recklessly caused Kuaffo’s death by firing the loaded handgun at his chest.”

Allen is scheduled to be arraigned in Westchester County Court on Wednesday, where he will face charges of second-degree manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon, criminally negligent homicide and criminal possession of a firearm, all felonlies. Allen is currently remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail.
