The fire, at a two-story building with a dollar store on the first floor and church on he second, was reported at around 2:45 a.m., Thomas Fitzpatrick of the Yonkers Fire Department said.

The fire was contained to the original business,” The Peso Value Store," Fitzpatrick said.

Seven firefighters were taken to the hospital for injuries, all thought to be minor.

An aggressive interior attack with hose lines kept the fire from spreading either to the above or adjacent businesses, he said.

The main body of fire  was in the rear of the store.

The fire is currently under investigation by the YPD and the YFD.

Utilities are being isolated and shut so not to interrupt the other businesses.
