YONKERS, N.Y. -- Happy Birthday to Yonkers’ Edward Moore!
Edward Moore, who was born in Yonkers, turns 34 Saturday.
Moore, a professional wrestler, better known by his ring name Eddie Kingston, was born Dec. 12, 1981. He is best known for his work in Chikara, Combat Zone Wrestling, Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and Ring of Honor. He is the current Chikara Grand Champion.
Kingston joined Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) and almost immediately was placed in the role of enforcer and mouthpiece in the BLKOUT faction. Kingston and fellow BLKOUT member Joker won the CZW World Tag Team Championship from the Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli) on Feb. 11, 2006, at Seven Years Strong: Settling The Score. Seven months later, on Sept. 9, Kingston defeated Chris Hero to win the CZW World Heavyweight Championship after an extended feud.
PWI ranked him No. 168 of the top 500 singles wrestlers in the PWI 500 in 2013. TRP Heavyweight Championship (1 time). World Star Wrestling Federation WSWF Heavyweight Championship (1 time), ICW/ICWA Tex-Arkana Television Championship (1 time) are some of his many achievements.
