YONKERS, N.Y. – Cross County Shopping Center in Yonkers has officially created this year’s holiday theme and scheduled an assortment of events between now and Christmas Eve.
This year’s theme is inspired by the popular Walt Disney animated film “Frozen.”
“The holidays are such a festive time of year that we just can’t keep the excitement to ourselves,” Liz Pollack, Cross County Shopping Center senior marketing manager, said in a press release.
“We love to share this season with our shoppers and that includes tons of exciting things to do while shopping for amazing holiday deals. We are providing extended hours, as well as free parking at the mall.”
Some of the holiday events coming up at the mall are as follows:
- A "Light the Night with Holiday Cheer" celebration takes place Saturday, Nov. 22 from 6-8 p.m. It will include the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, a performance by the New York City Swing Band, and an array of children’s activities. The first 100 people to visit Cross County’s booth located between Victoria’s Secret and Gap will receive a free voucher to pick up a complimentary live Christmas tree next weekend.
Santa Claus is here - and available from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon-6 p.m. on Sundays. Additional hours will be offered in December. Santa Claus will remain at Cross County Shopping Center until 5 p.m. Christmas Eve.
- Let's not forget Fido. Pet photos with Santa will be available from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, Monday, Dec. 8, and Monday, Dec. 15. Cats must be in a carrier and dogs leashed until picture time.
- A Chanukah celebration including a menorah lighting, cultural dancing, and children’s activities will be held Thursday, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m.
