A layer of snow was already covering Van Cortlandt Park Avenue in Yonkers Wednesday afternoon, making roads slick for drivers.

By 4:30 p.m. the nor'easter was already making its presence felt in the city, covering much of Yonkers in a sheet of snow and blowing gusts of winds throughout.
