The first phase of the Lower Hudson Transit Link involves the highway corridor between Suffern to the west and White Plains to the east.
It also includes infrastructure and service enhancements along Route 59 in Rockland County and Route 119 in Westchester County, the state DOT said.
According to a report by lohud.com, the new system would replace Rockland County’s Tappan ZEExpress system.
The DOT is also planning to expand bus lines south to Yonkers and east to Port Chester and add lines in Rockland, lohud.com reported.
It is linked with the construction of the new Tappan Zee Bridge.
“Open house” attendees will be able to learn about project updates and review the process of an ongoing environmental assessment being conducted by the DOT.
The public is encouraged to drop in anytime during the “open houses: at the most convenient location and date. The format and agendas will be the same, the DOT said.
The first will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, in Rockland County at the Nyack Library’s community room. The library is at 59 S. Broadway.
The second will take place from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, in Westchester County at the Warner Public Library’s meeting room. The library is at 121 N. Broadway, Tarrytown.
The first two "open houses" were held in the spring.
