Central Avenue To Be Temporarily Closed Down For Teen's Memorial Service

Central Avenue will be closed for several hours on Tuesday night in Yonkers as the city hosts a memorial service for 19-year-old Nina Cordero, who died in a car crash over the weekend.

Police said that northbound and southbound lanes of Central Park Avenue will be closed from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. by Sadore Lane for the memorial service. The service roads will remain open.

The closings will commence where the service road splits before Tuckahoe Road. Police have asked that motorists avoid the area if possible and to plan alternate routes if possible.
