Poll On Tolls: AAA Releases Results Of Transportation Funding Survey FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Nearly half of state motorists support adding tolls to interstates over other ways to fund transportation costs, according to a new AAA poll. In addition, motorists “strongly support” a constitutional amendment for a transportation lock box, according to the poll of 980 state drivers. Joel Colindres, a married father of two small children, came to the U.S. through Texas and has filed requests for ICE to hear his asylum case for 14 years, WLAD.com reported. Charles Monzillo, Former Danbury Fire Chief, Dies At 91 DANBURY, Conn. — Charles Joseph Monzillo, a former Danbury fire chief who moved to Clermont, Fla., died Jan. 15 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was 91. Born on Oct. 4, 1926 to Biagio and Hertha Monzillo, he grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y. and led a life full of service to others. Monzillo served in the Army Air Corp during WWII, Transit Police of New York City and following that, 25 years of service to the New York Fire Department.  After retiring from New York, he became fire chief in Willimantic, later moving to the Danbury department for several years. Waterbury Man Faces Drug Charge In Monroe MONROE, Conn. — A routine traffic stop led to a drug charge for a Waterbury man Sunday night, police said. Around 9 p.m., a Monroe police officer pulled over Brian Rodrigues, 27, of Tracy Avenue, for an equipment violation and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle, police said. A search of Rodrigues and the car revealed three grams of marijuana, three grams of marijuana hash and 16 stamps of LSD, police said. Rodrigues was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and held on $500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 31.
