The Gaels (4-2) are now ranked 11th in the state by MaxPreps. The only Westchester County school ahead of Prep in the rankings is No. 2 Archbishop Stepinac ( 6-0), which beat the Gaels, 35-19, on Oct. 4.
Prep beat St. Anthony's, 40-30, as quarterback Robert Madison completed 32-of-45 passes for 400 yards and five touchdowns. Qaadir Sheppard had 11 receptions for 156 yards and three touchdowns for the Gaels.
Prep plays St. Joseph by the Sea of Staten Island on Saturday. Its final two regular season games are against Holy Cross of Flushing and Chaminade of Mineola. The final three opponents for Iona Prep have a total of five wins.
Stepinac remained No. 2 in the latest MaxPreps rankings, behind No. 1 Canisius of Buffalo.
New Rochelle (6-0) climbed seven spots and is now ranked 13th heading into its game Friday at Carmel.
Yorktown (6-0) climbed 10 spots and is now ranked 38th while Bronxville, also 6-0, is ranked 46th. Rye (6-0) climbed eight spots and is now ranked 53rd, while Mamaroneck (5-1) jumped seven spots to 59th. For the complete MaxPreps rankings, click here.
