Stepinac Draws No. 1 Ranking In Preseason State Football Rankings

Two varsity football teams from the Hudson Valley are among the top five ranked teams in MaxPreps.com's Preseason New York State Fab 5.

Archbishop Stepinac of White Plains is ranked No. 1. The Crusaders, coming off a 12-0 season, are led by Mahopac resident Antonio Giannico, a senior running back/linebacker who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.68 seconds, according to the MaxPreps story.

New Rochelle, which went 11-1 last year, drew the No. 4 ranking. One of the Huguenot players cited in the story was running back/linebacker Jared Baron.
