My guess is that Armstrong decided that it would have been worse to have a trial, where all the evidence against him would have received tons of media coverage. The strategy he seems to have adopted is basically that which ENorwalk advocates - attacking the process as corrupt, rather than engaging the evidence and fighting the charges. From what I've read elsewhere there were ten people willing to testify that Armstrong was using Performance Enhancing Drugs. It was easy to dismiss Floyd Landis and one or two other accusers as disgruntled former teammates, but TEN witnesses, if true, would be pretty damning.

Whatever the case, I do hope Armstrong's foundation continues to work promoting good health and cancer research.

Spooner how many times a day do you use the word "evidence" ???Is it you favorite word?/You should try showing some evidence for your wacko posts for a change

ENorwalk:

How can they take his medals away if he never failed a drug test? Lance should just say "screw-you" and move on with his life.

Broad River:

I wonder what made him capitulate.

Tim T:

Strange Broad Swamp as I wonder what makes you incoherent

OLD TIMER:

Armstrong still denies doping and claims the US anti doping agency does not have the authority to take his medals. He says only the international cycling group that awarded them has that authority. He says he just gave up fighting and has never failed a doping test, but is tired of fighting.
