On Friday, Laoutaris announced that she had named Philip Toscano as new the head coach of the women’s volleyball program after spending six years as an assistant in Valhalla.

In his last five seasons at WCC, Toscano was part of a program that went 46-57. He has also served as an assistant coach for the U-15 girl’s volleyball team with the Westchester Pride Volleyball Club in Hartsdale for one season before being elevated to head coach for two years. Toscano also spent a season playing for the Herbert H. Lehman High School boys volleyball team, where he was a libero during his senior season in 2006.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of Philip to our Concordia family,” Laoutaris said in a statement. “His passion and dedication to the sport of women’s volleyball will be a great asset to rebuilding our program.”

“I want to thank Kathy for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the Concordia Clippers family,” Toscano said. “I'm very excited to embark on this new journey. Coming from a two-year program to a four-year program is exciting for me. I'm very passionate about this game and look forward to working on developing a successful volleyball program for the upcoming season and future years.”
