The bulk of the increase will be earmarked to hire more than 380 faculty and staff positions that were cut in recent years.

The $584.9 million tab -- which would be 12 percent more than the current $522.9 million budget -- also accounts for an $89 million state-funded bailout that bridged a shortfall last year, LoHud.com reported.

The Yonkers PTA Council will hold a public forum to discuss the proposed budget on March 4 at Roosevelt High School, LoHud.com said.
