Clad in white, blue and orange, the students processed into the ceremony, which was held at the Westchester County Center in White Plains on Wednesday, June 25.
Yonkers Public Schools Superintendent Michael Yazurlo gave the commencement address, stressing the importance of cooperation and unity throughout your school years and the life that follows.
The graduates are heading to many colleges across the country, including Yale, Cornell, Columbia University, Johns Hopkins, Drexel and New York University.
Valedictorian Arvi Gjoka, who will be heading to New York University in the fall, gave his speech, which stressed the importance of hard work and perseverance.
Salutatorian Serosh Naeem's speech focused more on the bonds shared outside the classroom.
"Look around you. These are the people who accepted you," she said. "This is a place where I felt safe. When I look back on my time here, I won't remember class. I'll remember laying awake waiting to text people at midnight on their birthday."
Nader Sayegh, president of the Board of Education and member of Yonkers Middle High School Class of 1970, accepted the graduating class and discussed the continuing success of the high school, which was ranked the 214th most talented in the nation by the Washington Post.
Board Trustee Lydia Perez capped off the ceremony by saying congratulations in every language represented by the class, including English, Spanish, Korean, Haitian, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Indian, Pakistani, Afrikaans and Russian.
