Tests Find Unsafe Levels Of Lead In Yonkers Schools

YONKERS, N.Y. – A round of voluntary tests started by the Yonkers City School District in April found unsafe lead levels in various water outlets connected to school buildings, according to News 12.

Twenty-five water outlets across the 39 buildings in the school district had elevated levels of lead, News 12 said.

Lincoln High School was found to have the most issues, with 10 water fixtures needing to be shut off, reported News 12.

Old faucets and pipes were found to be the issue, News 12 noted.
