More than 20 employees from Insight Venture Partners joined students from St. Christopher’s in Dobbs Ferry on Tuesday to repaint and restore sections of the century-old campus, according to a statement from St. Christopher’s.

“What our buildings look like is very important to the children and staff,” said St. Christopher’s Director of Operations Ralph Herrera. “It’s often hard for us to beautify a building when it comes to limited dollars and we are grateful that Insight is volunteering us a helpful hand.”

According to St. Christopher’s, the Insight volunteers worked in two shifts Tuesday, one from 9 a.m. - noon and another from 1 -5 p.m.

Donald Antonecchia, St. Christopher’s chief operating officer, welcomed the volunteers before both shifts and provided the groups with information about the history and goals of St. Christopher’s, according to the statement.

“We were grateful for the opportunity to partner with St. Christopher’s for this day of giving,” said Deven Parekh, managing director at Insight Venture Partners. “Their life-changing impact on the community is something we were thankful to be a part of. We hope to continue to support their efforts as they serve the needs of children and teens with disabilities.”

St. Christopher’s has been assisting teens with emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities since its founding in 1881, according to the statement, which said that the organization provides residential programs and comprehensive therapeutic social and family services coordinated with special education schooling. In addition to Dobbs Ferry, the organization has campuses in Valhalla and New Windsor.
