Non-Teachers School Union Chief Speaks On Yonkers Budget Shortfall

Testimony focused on need for additional state funding, particularly in light of budget shortfall at the Yonkers Board of Education.

An alleged budget miscalculation of $55 million led to the recent and sudden retirement of two Yonkers schools administrators, including Yonkers superintendent Bernard Pierorazio.

The Yonkers Board of Education has selected Michael Yazurlo, a former Tuckahoe schools superintendent and Yonkers principal, as interim superintendent of Yonkers Public Schools.
