Mayor Spano Asks State For Cash To Improve Yonkers Schools

YONKERS, N. Y. -- Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano kicked off a campaign Monday for state funding to build new schools and to rebuild deteriorating public schools in Yonkers, News 12 Westchester reports.

Many public schools, such as Gorton High School, are falling apart while enrollment increases, Spano said. His initial plan includes building three new schools, News 12 Westchester says.
