The company’s proposal, currently under review by the city’s Planning Board, calls for three towers containing a total of 609 units -- of which 10 percent would be designated as “affordable,” lohud.com reported.

According to the lohud.com report, Avalon’s project would be far less dense that what is now allowed on the Alexander Street site, which is part of a city-created urban renewal area.

That area would allow the building of close to 4,000 units spread out over a dozen towers, the lohud.com story said.
