Andrea Braunstein, who works at Houlihan Lawrence in Bronxville, said the project at 300 Columbus Ave. includes 41 studio units and six one-bedroom units. Monthly rent for studios begin at $1,950.
Each unit will have central air conditioning, stainless steel appliances, a high capacity washer-dryer combination and dark, handsome cabinets.
Tenants will also have the availability to lease parking.
“It’s getting a great response,’’ Braunstein said. “There has been a lot of interest and positive feedback. The developer laid out the studio really well and exceeded everybody’s expectations in terms of size, layout and a sense of openness and light.”
While the new construction appeals to many apartment dwellers, Braunstein said commuting and shopping convenience and Westchester’s many amenities also entice prospective tenants.
“The Avenue represents in-town living with easy proximity to NYC. It’s a 30-minute train ride to Grand Central,’’ Braunstein said. “There’s a variety of shops nearby and most people won’t even need a car. I think tenants are also going to like the fact that a lot of Westchester’s cultural and recreational facilities are close by.”
Braunstein said demand for rental properties remains strong throughout Westchester County. White Plains, in particular, has grabbed tenants with some new rental properties in the past few years.
“Rentals are few and far between,’’ Braunstein said. “In Eastchester, Tuckahoe and Bronxville they’re very hard to find. People want the new construction. The Avenue meets the needs of so many people who want to be in this area, and prefer new construction over older, less amenitised alternatives.”
“We’re excited that it’s finally going to open,’’ Braunstein said. “I think people are going to love the apartments. Without a doubt, they’ll enjoy the commute and the shops. Getting to the train is literally walking across the street.”
