Salvatore V. Cabibbo, 84, Longtime Hackensack Resident

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Salvatore V. Cabibbo -- a resident of Hackensack for 50 years -- died on Saturday, June 4. He was 84.

Born in Cliffside Park, Cabibbo was a mechanical engineer for Kamine Development Corp. of Union, before he retired. He was past president and a member of Local Chapter No. 25 of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, MaryAnn (Genovese) Cabibbo; children Greg Cabibbo and his wife Stacy, Dianne DiMassino and her husband George, Linda Toga and her husband Andy, MaryAnn DiGiammerino and her husband David, Sal Cabibbo, Steven Cabibbo, Donna Cabibbo and her husband Brian Hoell, and Michael Cabibbo and his wife Janice Sullivan; grandchildren Greg, Chris, Jared, Erika, Daniel, Jessica, Thea, Chris, Sal, Katelyn, Marissa, Isabella, Antonio, Rebecca, Craig, Keith, Cole and Marcus; great-grandchildren Derek, Lukas, Shane, Jack and Madelin; and siblings Nellie Fader, and Joseph Cabibbo and his wife Ruby.

Cabibbo was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Noreen Cabibbo.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Service, 397 Union St., in Hackensack. Following family reflections at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the procession will proceed to George Washington Memorial Park, in Paramus.
