Wappinger Woman Charged With DWI After Route 9D Stop

WAPPINGER, N.Y. -- A 28-year-old Wappinger woman is facing a driving while intoxicated charge after New York State Police stopped her car because it was swerving in traffic on Route 9D in Wappinger, police said.

Kiersten Barrett was issued traffic tickets requiring her to appear Thursday, March 3, in court in Wappinger, police said. Police arrested her Thursday after troopers stopped her car for failing to maintain her lane of travel, police said.

Barrett gave police with a breath sample that revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.12 percent, police said.
