WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. Hazel Hicks, 63, of White Plains, died April 5 in Jamaica, Queens, N.Y.
She was born Jan. 23, 1949, in Warsaw, N.C., to Carlyle and Hazel Hicks. She graduated from Douglass High School in Warsaw in 1967 and moved to White Plains in 1974. Hicks worked as a home health care aide for most of her life, providing service to many throughout White Plains. She was a quiet, independent and spiritually strong woman.
Hicks is survived by her son, Carlyle (Bernadette) Hicks; two grandchildren, four nieces and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Interfaith Chapel at Long Island University, C.W., in Brookville, N.Y.
