YONKERS, N.Y. – Mayor Mike Spano will outline his plans for revitalizing Yonkers in the face of fiscal challenges in his State of the City address March 20 at 7 p.m. at Yonkers Riverfront Library, his office announced Monday.

It will be Spano's second State of the City address since he took office last year. He will discuss how his administration is working with state and city agencies to improve schools, neighborhoods and businesses.

"I look forward to the opportunity of addressing the residents of Yonkers and briefing them on the economic, social and educational conditions of their city,” the mayor said in a statement.

Spano also announced that he will host a pair of town hall meetings prior to the State of the City address.

The first will be held March 6 at 7 p.m. at Lincoln High School at 375 Kneeland Ave. The second will be March 12 at 7 p.m. at the Peter Chema Senior Center on 435 Riverdale Ave.

The mayor will be joined at the town hall sessions by city department heads, who will help address residents' issues and concerns, officials said. “These interactive and intimate town hall meetings are opportunities to sit in and listen to residents, first-hand, about the issues affecting our great city,” Spano said.

The city invites residents to bring any questions or ideas to the town hall meetings that they would like to discuss face-to-face with the mayor.

Questions can also be submitted in advance via email at askthemayor@yonkersny.gov or via the city’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CityofYonkers .
