Updated 2 p.m. YONKERS, N.Y. -- A Yonkers woman remains in critical condition as a result of injuries sustained during a car accident in Yonkers on Sunday, May 18, according to police officials.
The 27-year-old woman's 2008 Honda sedan spun out of control and hit a retaining wall before slamming into an unoccupied parked car in a driveway on 1116 Midland Avenue, where it ultimately landed on its side.
Yonkers police spokesman Lt. Patrick McCormack said when police, fire and EMS arrived on the scene, the woman did not have a pulse. Through CPR, she was brought back and remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
"She has very serious injuries," he said. "She remains in critical condition, and the longer that goes on, the more troublesome it gets."
Officials said it is not yet clear if drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident, but the matter is currently under investigation.
