Yonkers Residents Complain About Police Captain Reassignment

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Some Yonkers residents and officials are questioning a decision to move police Capt. Robert Itzla, who has been commander of the 1st Precinct, to work in the city jail, according to a report from News 12.

The fact that many residents are emailing and calling the mayor and City Council members about the switch is proof Itzla is doing a good job, City Council member John Larkin told News 12.

Itzla, a 31-year veteran of the department, is supposed to start the new assignment in the city jail on Monday, News 12 reported.
