Yonkers Political Consultant Faces Federal Fraud, Tax Charges

YONKERS, N.Y. -- A political consultant involved with the Ridge Hill development project in Yonkers is facing federal charges that he scammed the state Democratic Senate Campaign Committee out of $100,000, according to LoHud.com.

Melvin Lowe, who was a political associate for State Senator John Sampson, was also accused of failing to pay on a $66,000 to a Yonkers resident and not paying taxes on approximately $2 million in consulting fees, according to LoHud.com.

Lowe was arrested at his Harlem home and later released on $200,000 bond, LoHud.com reported.
