Yonkers Police Warn Citizens Of Daytime Burglaries

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Yonkers Police are warning residents about a string of daytime burglaries that are happening in the northeast section of the fourth precinct.

Six burglaries have occurred in the vicinity of Edwards Place, Frederic Street and Woodlands Avenue between Dec. 27 and March 4.

All of the incidents took place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays. All of the robberies involved the theft of gaming consoles or jewelry. 

In all but one of the robberies, the point of entry was through a window. 

Police are asking neighborhood residents to identify unfamiliar persons or vehicles. Residents are asked to consider clothing description, vehicle descriptions and license plate numbers. 

Residents are reminded to secure their homes by locking all windows and doors. Anything out of the ordinary should be reported to the Police by calling 377-7900.
