Yonkers Police Investigating Shooting, Stabbing Incidents

YONKERS, N.Y. -- A 22-year-old Yonkers male suffered a gunshot wound to his leg and a 21-year-old Yonkers male sustained stab wounds to his shoulder and thigh early Monday morning, according to Yonkers officials.

Police responded to reports of shots fired in the are of Warburton and Lamartine Ave. at approximately 1:45 a.m. No victim was found at the scene, but later received reports of the victim receiving treatment at St. John's Hospital. Preliminary investigations revealed the victim was in a physical altercation with the shooter, police said. 

At approximately 3:30 a.m. units from the Fourth Precinct responded to reports of a stabbing at a gas station on Nepperhan Ave. The stabbing victim as also allegedly involved in a physical altercation, police said.

Authorities are currently reviewing surveillance footage and attempting to locate witnesses to both incidents.
