YONKERS, N.Y. – Two people were hospitalized over the weekend in a pair of unrelated stabbing incidents in Yonkers, police said.

On Saturday, police responded to a large fight at the Veterans of Foreign Affairs post at 574 Yonkers Ave. around 7:15 p.m. Police said the hall had been rented for a birthday party when a large fight broke out and spilled into the street.

There, officers found a 46-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest, Police Spokesman Det. Lt. Patrick McCormack said.  The victim also suffered from a punctured lung and was taken to the hospital. He is expected to survive.

On Sunday, at about 5:45 p.m., police responded to another stabbing incident, this time at 59 Beechwood Terrace. Police said they found a 17-year-old male had been slashed after an altercation with a family member.

The teen was treated at the hospital for a cut to his wrist and released.  Police are investigating both incidents and no arrests have been made.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Detective Division at 914-377-7724 and remind residents that anonymous tips can also be sent to the department’s tips411 texting program.
