Yonkers Police To Collect Unwanted Prescription Drugs

YONKERS, N.Y. -- The Yonkers Police Department along with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will hold a drug take-back day at all four police precincts on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Residents are invited to drop off any unused, unwanted or expired prescription drugs or patches. Liquids, syringes and sharps will not be accepted. 

“National studies indicate that nearly half of young heroin users started out using prescription drugs. So we strongly recommend that our residents help protect their children by removing unused or expired prescription medication from their homes and take advantage of this program," Police Commissioner Charles Gardner said in a statement.
