Yonkers police later arrested a man at the Dobbs Ferry train station after a search through the village.

Yonkers Police reported that a suspicious vehicle was reported at 800 North Broadway in Yonkers at 12:03 p.m. When officers approached the vehicle the driver fled the scene going north.

Two men were taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing, according to Yonkers Police Information Officer Lt. Patrick  McCormack.

According to Stop & Shop employees who were in front of the store on break, the Impala, with Massachusetts license plates, entered the parking area from its Broadway entrance sometime around 12:30 p.m. and screeched into a parking spot where the driver sat.

"The police (Yonkers and Dobbs Ferry) raced past the store after the car came in," said Christopher Belloise and another store employee. "The guy just kind of stayed in the car for a while, with his hood up. Then he walked out (onto Broadway).

Yonkers Police were actively continuing the investigation at the store and would not give details about the pursuit, which began in Yonkers, moved on to the Saw Mill River Parkway and went through Hastings-in-Hudson and into Dobbs Ferry.

"I live in the Bronx, so we see all kinds of things every day, so this seemed like nothing," another Stop & Shop employee said. "The guy was kind of dark, but wasn't doing anything crazy. He just sat here until he could walk away."
