YONKERS, N.Y. - A pair of suspected burglars are scheduled to be arraigned in Yonkers City Court on Wednesday after police apprehended them while interrupting a burglary in progress on Tuesday.
At approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday, multiple units from the 2nd Precinct were dispatched to a Robley Street home after the robbery was reported, prompting a canvas of the area by responding officers.
According to Yonkers police, acting on information regarding a possible suspect vehicle responsible for previous burglaries in the area, Sgt. James O’Connor and Officer Martin Vataj stopped two possibles suspect that were driving in the vicinity of Hayward and Catskill Avenues.
Following a brief investigation, police determined that Bronx residents Rodolfo Felix, 34 and Raffi DeOreo Vasquez Jr. were responsible for the Robley Street burglary and the two were taken into police custody. A further investigation yielded information that Felix was allegedly involved in two prior burglaries on Dunwoodie Street last month.
Both suspects were remanded to the Yonkers City Jail and are scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday. Felix stands charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and one count of attempted burglary. Vazquez Jr. is charged with attempted burglary.
The investigation into the burglaries is ongoing, and police noted that additional charges may be logged in the future.
