On Thursday, acting Westchester County District Attorney James McCarty announced that Blake Natal, 35, has pleaded guilty of felony charges of burglary and assault after entering the apartment of his ex-girlfriend unlawfully and without her permission last year and attacking her visitor.

At approximately 10 a.m. on Nov. 22 last year, Natal violated an order of protection that required him to stay away from his ex-girlfriend when he entered her apartment and discovered that another person was locked inside her bathroom.

According to McCarty, Natal then kicked open the bathroom door and repeatedly punched the man in the head and body. His victim suffered a traumatic brain injury, spinal fracture and a laceration to the back of his head during the attack.

Natal’s victim was transported to Jacobi Medical Center and treated for more than a month. He was then transported to Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan for another month for further treatment. His injuries resulted in cognitive and physical impairment.

Three days after that assault, Natal again violated his order of protection by calling his ex-girlfriend and threatening to “come to Yonkers to finish the job (he) started,” which caused her to feel “threatened and feel for her safety,” according to McCarty.

The Yonkers Police Department subsequently sparked an investigation, which led to Natal’s arrest in December. He has been remanded to Westchester County Jail and will be sentenced on Friday, Nov. 11, when he will face up to 25 years in state prison.
