Yonkers Man Gets Up To 12 Years In Prison For DWI

YONKERS, N.Y. -- A Yonkers man was sentenced to a maximum of 12 years in prison after being convicted on multiple charges including two counts of driving while intoxicated, according to the Westchester District Attorney's Office.

Adrian Stewart, 28, was arrested by police when they found him asleep in the driver's seat of a vehicle that was in gear with the motor running on Van Cortlandt Avenue. 

Stewart also had four suspensions on his license for failing to answer a summons or pay a fine for a pending DWI charge in Harrison, the district attorney said. 

Stewart was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated, one count of first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and two counts of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Stewart will spend a minimum of four and a maximum of 12 years in prison.
