Yonkers Man Charged With DWI In Putnam County

KENT, N.Y. -- Kent police recently made several arrests including charging four for driving while intoxicated, one person for choking a woman in front of a child, and two for possession of drugs.

Those charged with DWI include:

  • Saturday, Aug. 27: Officer Joe Fleischman and Detective Ray Beauchesne stopped Orlando Dominguez, 37, of Yonkers, for an equipment violation. During the stop, Dominguez failed a number of field sobriety tests after police smelled alcohol on his breath. His charge was raised to felony when a computer check revealed that he had another DWI charge within the past 10 years. He was also charged with not having a driver's license. He was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility on $1,000 bail or $2,5000 bond. 
  • Sunday, Aug. 21: Officer Corey Ashe stopped David Pinchbeck, 46, of Carmel, on Ludingtonville Road and found that he was driving drunk. Pinchbeck was charged with DWI and released on his own recognizance. 
  • Monday, Aug. 22: Officer Corey Ashe charged Alyssa Bevilacqua, 48, of East Fishkill, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after she was stopped on Route 52 for a traffic violation and was found to be under the influence. She was also charged with criminal possession of drugs after Ashe discovered the drug subutex. She was released on her own recognizance. 
  • Friday, Aug. 26: Officers received a 911 call reporting an erratic driver on Route 52 heading toward Kent from the Town of Carmel. Officer Dan Huestis sand Detective Ray Beauchesne located the vehicle in the area of Dunwoodie Road. The driver, Thomas Adams, 66, of Fishkill, was found to be driving under the influence after testing at three times the legal limit for alcohol at 0.23 percent.

The other arrests include:

  • Friday, Aug. 26: Officer Corey Ashe stopped a vehicle on Route 52 for having an expired registration. During the stop, Ashe noticed the passenger of the vehicle, Christopher Velazques, 30, of Holmes reach under the passenger seat. A search by Ashe turned up more than a dozen oxycodone pills. Velazquese was charged with possession of a controlled substance. He is being held at the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 bail or $7,500 bond.
  • Friday, Aug. 26: Officer Daren Cea stopped Richard Cowen, 36, of Fishkill, on Route 311 for a traffic violation and smelled marijuana. A further search turned up 81 oxycodone pills. He was charged with possession of drugs and released on his own recognizance.
  • Saturday, Aug. 27: Sergeant Alex VanderWoude conducted a traffic stop on the Interstate 84 entrance ramp at Ludingtonville Road. Officer Joe Fleischman and Detective Ray Beauchesne responded to assist after Robert Geddes, 70, of Holmes became combative when asked to exit the car after he was grabbed something between his legs. During a search, officers found crack cocaine and several glass crack pipes. Geddes was charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and tampering with physical evidence. He was released on his own recognizance. 
  • Saturday, Aug. 27: Sergeant Alex VanderWoude and Officer Dan Huestis responded to a residence off of Route 52 for a report of a fight between a man and woman. During the investigation, it was discovered that Miguel Rueda, 57, of Kent, had choked the woman during the argument in front of her 9-year-old child. He was charged with obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child. He was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond.
